The `Gandaberunda' or `Iruthalaipakshi' a popular symbol of hindu mythology is a two-headed bird, believed to possess immense magical strength and is capable of fighting the forces of destruction. Its heads resemble the eagle and tail is like that of a peacock.

In continuous usage for 500 yrs as a royal emblem, it has a special place in the history of Karnataka- first used on coins in Vijayanagar mints, it was the royal insignia of the Wodeyar dynasty of Mysore and is the state symbol today.

In this handcrafted , gold-dipped necklace the Gandaberunda motif is seen on the central pendant crafted in Sterling Silver (92.5%) and interwoven into an elegant black thread. Kempu stones add further allure to the design. The earrings add to the subtle design and beauty.

(Note:The necklace can be bought alone or along with the earrings, prices for both are different and all options given.)
