The cobra hood is a fertility symbol. This pendant is hung on a  Jomale or Jomaale  a strand of grooved  beads resembling the Indian gooseberry, strung on red cord also  an essential part of a Kodavathi bride’s jewellery. This necklace is crafted in Sterling Silver (92.5%) using techniques used in ancient South Indian antique gold temple jewellery and gold dipped in 24 k gold.
